Overview

Touch for Men is a fresh floral ozonic men’s fragrance released by Burberry in the year 2000. The nose behind the  composition of this designer fragrance is Jean-Pierre Bethouart. It comes as an Eau de Toillette shipping in 30, 50, and 100 ml offerings. Now, on to the ratings.

Presentation

Burberry Touch wooden

Burberry Touch's cap matches nicely with your dresser

The bottle is unique especially if you pick up on the design cues intended by Burberry. When I first saw it, I though “carrot” but upon closer inspection it’s designed to resemble the shape of a man: The cap being the head and the bottle resembling the upper body mass of a man with the blue color as added emphasis.

The juice is elegantly colored with a slight tint of sky blue. The cap has a faux wooden touch and is of the push on/pull off type. The atomizer sprays the fragrance with a short strong misty burst. It comes in a string-tied box with quilted designs. Overall a nice presentation with bonus points for originality.

Juice (Scent Composition)

The main notes in Touch include Violet at the top, pepper and cedar in the middle, and musk and tonka bean at the base. What is going to hit your nose first is the violet and pepper combo. It’s as if there is an identity crisis here as the scent doesn’t know whether it wants to be an airy fresh scent or a spicy scent. To me, the violet note is a lot more noticeable than the pepper note, possible around a 70-30 split thus I would classify it as a fresh ozonic scent.

The masculine profile of this one comes in its musky dry-down where the musk note becomes detectable yet still playing second fiddle to the violet.

The thoughts that are evoked when I smell it: “Airy”, “fresh”, “heavenly”, and “clean.”

If I were to describe it in Layman’s terms, I would say that it smells like a bar of soap.

It’s not bold but it smells pleasant.Score: 7/10

Performance

Projection: with a scent like this is going to be below average, personal space range. 4/10

Longevity: Good projection doesn’t necessarily translate to good longevity and likewise good longevity doesn’t always mean good projection. Touch is a testament to this as it has well above average longevity despite a soft-moderate projection. I got in the 7-8 hour range with it on my skin. 7/10

Impressions (Complement factor): This one is a hit or miss with the ladies. It’s not that they don’t find it to be a nice scent. Almost all do. The issue is that this scent could be just as easily worn by women as men. Some women like that. Some want something more masculine. 6/10
